Many find him to be an approachable, compassionate, and quietly courageous individual. While many security personnel cultivate intimidating reputations, he prefers to resolve conflicts through conversation whenever possible. Growing up in the close-knit community on Caldos IV taught him that every disagreement affects not only neighbors, friends, and families, but also the entire community. His history of mediation techniques and de-escalation tactics likely put him into consideration for a USS Veritas posting. Despite his friendly nature, Stewart possesses an unwavering moral center. Once he believes someone is in danger or being treated unfairly, he becomes remarkably determined. His loyalty to his shipmates borders on protective, making him dependable in emergencies. His greatest flaw, however, is his evident inexperience. At only twenty-one years of age, he routinely doubts whether he belongs among older, more seasoned Starfleet personnel. He sometimes overthinks decisions after the fact, replaying situations in his mind and wondering if there was a better way to act. Personal History

Born on Caldos IV, one of the Federation's oldest colony worlds, known for preserving many traditions brought from Scotland centuries earlier. Stewart was raised among rolling highlands, stone villages, a plethora of cattle, and generations of closely connected families. Stewart developed a deep appreciation for community and heritage. His mother, Dr. Alba Howard, served as one of the colony's respected physicians. Though originally from another Federation world, she settled permanently on Caldos IV after marrying into the long-established MacKenzie family, dairy farmers on Caldos IV. Stewart spent much of his childhood accompanying her during house calls to remote farming communities, witnessing firsthand the importance of compassion, patience, and service. Rather than following his mother's medical profession, Stewart found himself drawn toward protecting others. He volunteered with local emergency response teams as a teenager, assisting during storms, wilderness rescues, and medical evacuations. These experiences sparked his desire to join Starfleet. He believed that he could do more away from Caldos IV.
