Welcome to the USS Veritas!

After two years on border patrol, the USS Veritas is called back to Starbase 12 to meet with Commodore Haldane, a no-nonsense Starfleet officer with plenty of line experience. She's no micro manager and her favorite expression? " I'll give you enough rope to solve the problem. Try not to hang the Federation with it.."

Seems a group of scientists on Archanis IV have gone silent and while it could just be a case of being absent-minded, the USS Veritas has been tasked with finding out what's going on. Do they need a lecture? Help with their communications equipment? Or has something happened to them?

Mission: The Silence of Archanis

Five miles on the running track and early enough that he had the track to himself. Time to think. That was how he described it to anyone who asked him ... why ... in that exasperated tone of voice non-runners always used. Time to think He set a pace that had him finished in just under forty minutes which was, by his calculations, an eight-minute mile. Twice a week, every week, for the two years the Veritas had been out patrolling the borders of Federation space; he saw no reason to change his workout regimen just because they'd been summoned…

Mission: The Silence of Archanis

Lieutenant Commander Abraham Winters made his way down the corridor. After spending some time with his wife, he escorted her back to the Starbase. Now he was on his way to meet Captain Lockwood. The Miranda class was a cross between the Constitution class and a Bellerophon class. His last starship assignment was on Bellerophon-class ship, which he had spent three years serving on. The Veritas was definitely bigger, more powerful, and had more advancements. It was an honor to be given this opportunity. Nodding at a few of the enlisted personnel as he walked by, he was reminded to…

Mission: The Silence of Archanis
Posted on Sat Aug 22nd, 2026 @ 10:05pm by Lieutenant Commander Abraham Winters

Lt. Commander Abraham Winters had arrived on the Veritas just a few hours prior with his wife Ltjg. Janice Blanton. The last two weeks of leave had been absolutely amazing for the married couple, who had just celebrated their second anniversary. After only the first year of marriage, Janice was offered a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. But that promotion involved having to transfer from Starfleet Medical to Starbase 12. She served as an Emergency and Surgical Nurse. It had been hard being away from each other, but they both very much understood the sacrifices that Starfleet would demand from…

The Treaty of Organia has both us and the Klingon Empire on edge and while we've had a few tense encounters, our route has been relatively peaceful. Still, after two years on border patrol the crew is more than ready for shore leave. And, as luck would have it, we were ordered to Starbase-12 to meet with the Commodore Margaret Haldane about a new assignment. Should be arriving within the next hour or so.

I'm appending to this log security's report on recent minor infractions among the enlisted members of the crew. Nothing particularly serious though more frequent in number.…
